How to send a thumb you ask?
Under your deviation is a "thumb" code, just copy/paste the entire thing into your note.

To notify people of new entries watch the Journal entries for new work that is added or check out our favs.
This will stop people fav. Club entries also.

Each Month there will be a poll for the BEST for the month that will be submitted into the actually gallery...so please make sure you vote to get the best in.

Only Active members who “Voting for Gallery entries each month” will be able to Submit work from now on

What is this community about?

Stating the obvious: makeup! It changes us, it makes us more visually appealing, it turns us into other unrecognizable selves. This community is the place for makeup lovers in all its depth, from the experiments with changing faces to full body art. What we look for are mostly photographic works showing the effects makeup can have over art.




Who can join in?

Everybody that has a makeup-related work, be it self-portraits, model shoots, digital makeup layouts. You can either be a makeup professional, a photographer with a tendency to use makeup as a main highlight on his/her works, or just an amateur in love with the subject experimenting with its bounds.




What do i have to do to join the group?

That's easy: just drop us a note with the subject "JOINING". Since the group is pretty new, there isn't any other catches about joining. Maybe in the future we'll limit the members number or something, but only if things get to a point where our member's exposure is compromised.

After you are accepted into the group, you should add the group to your watchlist and put the group icon on your journal - doing it on your signature is optional, but it would be great if you did so.

Please bear in mind when considering to join or even before sending your submissions that this group isn't about everyday makeup, the usual eyeliner+lipstick combo, or anything like that. We have a standard we're aiming for: makeup that makes a photographic work what it is, playing a main role in its composition. If it's not like that, it doesn't pertain to the group!



How do I submit my work to the group?

To submit your pieces, please send us a note with the link to the deviation and the subject "SUBMISSION". If the piece wasn't submitted before to deviantart, please send a link to where it's hosted. *Please do not e-mail your work to us!* Use the notes system instead.



Is there a limit for submissions?

One piece per day per person, so everybody will have the chance to participate and have their works exposed.



Can i suggest someone for the group?

Yes, of course! If you know somebody on DA who has an amazing makeup job or even has makeup-related photographs, send them a note to suggest them to join our group. We can always use good recommendations!

Can i suggest a deviant to be featured?

sure, just note us with a link to their gallery
they do not need to be a member of *makeup to be featured.


I've joined the club but don't feel like sending any of my works now. Is it ok?

In fact, it isn't. It's not good for the club to have "ghost" members, since without high quality works being exposed nobody will be attracted to come back, and active members won't get the exposure they deserve.

So we have two little rules to prevent this from happening: 1) if a member takes more than one month to submit at least a piece of work, he/she will be noted and, if there isn't a good reason for that, will have a week to submit something or leave the group; 2) same happens when a member doesn't submit anything in three months. If you feel like these rules are too strict or plain wrong, please leave us a note.



I have this photo with makeup digitally added on photoshop. Can I submit it?

Yes, you can, but only under a special section for makeup layouts. Please tell us the makeup was digitally added on your submission note.



I am a boy/man/transgendered. Can I join?

We don't see why not! Please do!



I think this club is so futile and shallow it should be closed down and each one of its members hunted down and burned on a stake!

You have the right to think whatever you want about us. But as is stated on the group main info: makeup changes us. It can be shallow from a simplistic point of view, but making a long story short, sometimes changing the outside is a way of changing on the inside. It's up to you to see it.


What can I comment on and ?

The Orginal works ONLY. So that the artist gets to hear from you. Please don't favorite or comment on the community. This is just so that the artist gets the exposure that they deserve.
